Yeah, I know a lot of artists have abandoned their blogs for facebook, but I still follow folks via my rss blog feed each morning.

Blogs let you share stuff with fans. FB lets fans let stuff with you and each other.
Posts on FB get lost in a flood of other posts and are easily missed and never seen. Posts on blogs stay there and are achieved for easy access.
FB should not replace blogs IMO, but supplement them.
